The Front 9

Par 5 - 565/524/433 Yards

Get Loose Quick and Enjoy the View

From Our Team:

Par 5 to tee it high and let it fly with the wind at your back. Being a Par 5 to start gives golfers a chance to start with a birdie and get groups to spread out. With the green sloping away from you, it’s better to be long to have an uphill putt. Enjoy the views but plenty more to come.

From Our Members:

A Long par 5. The wide fairway should help you be able to keep it in the fairway. There’s a good chance it will be hard to reach in 2 so you may want to play 2 comfortable shots to green. This green is fast and easy to roll off the back. If you are long coming back up to the pin, be firm to the hole.

Par 4 - 482/456/435 Yards

Signature Hole

From Our Team:

With more than 200 foot of elevation drop from tee to green, the tee shot is critical. The player will want their ball to the right side of the fairway to have the right approach to the green. With the second half of the green running away from you a lofted approach shot will help to stick the green and not run your ball off the back.

From Our Members:

First thing you will notice is the tree in front left of your Tee shot.  If you are able to go over the tree it will give you a nice drive in the fairway. If not try to stay as close to the tree on your drive so you are not in the right rough.  Should be an iron into this green. If it is dry you will want to consider hitting in front of the green. It is hard to hold and will roll to the back right If you can stop your  iron on the green then go for it.

Par 4 - 383/361/301 Yards

Dangers Abound!

From Our Team:

Tough tee shot with trees left and right with prevailing winds blowing left to right making right handed players slices even more troublesome! Now your second shot requires the right club selection. I suggest grabbing one more than you think to hit an elevated, shallow green with waterfront to the left and trouble all around. The green is built on an old house fountain with the old Maple trees surrounding the back of the green that once were around the house.

From Our Members:

For your drive a great spot to aim is the maple tree on the left side of fairway. This fairway goes left to right when you hit it. Easy to have a shot go out on the right if you don’t give it room. Your 2nd shot, give yourself enough club to hit the green very easy to play short on the hill in front. Not a fun chip if you do. Play your putt to try to go back toward the valley.

Par 3 - 227/208/128 Yards

Real Tough Par Three

From Our Team:

Playing 190-230 yards with water all along the right of the green and cross winds adding even more difficulty, just hitting this big green is quite a feat. Now make the putt and have a great chance to earn a skin!

From Our Members:

Play this par 3 to have the green feed from your right to left. The pond can be an issue if you go too far right. Read your putt to go to the valley and not the pond.

Par 4 - 275/252/208 Yards

Breather Hill

From Our Team:

After playing the gauntlet of holes 2,3,and 4 the 5th hole gives the golfer a little reprieve. Although it’s a shorter hole, it plays uphill and usually you have the wind in your face. Driver isn’t always necessary off the tea. People that hit a low T-shirt might want to use a more lofted club. The approach shot for the average golfer Will usually be 125 to 100 yards out. Because of the elevated green and the wind golfers usually want to club up at least one or two clubs. Hitting the screen it will be rewarded with a fairly flat pot and your best chance at a birdie.

From Our Members:

Don’t let the hill intimidate you. This is a nice par 4.  Play your drive to the left side of fairway it feeds left to right.  Easiest 2nd shot to the green will be from the left side even if you are in the rough.  Try not to hit on the hill behind this green it will give you a very testy chip no matter where the hole is located.

Par 4 - 422/405/325 Yards

Teeth of the Wind

From Our Team:

This 400 plus yard hole plays into the teeth of the wind. Now that you’re loosened up it’s time to crush your drive. If you are going to miss the fair-way miss left because the driving range on the right which is O. B. and a big Maple tree can block your second shot to the big 2-tiered green with water all along the left.

From Our Members:

This can be a long par 4 if the wind is coming into your face. Depending on the length of your drive you may be looking at a long iron going into the green. This is a 2 tier green and you really need to try and get on the right tier. Putts will feed toward the pond on this hole.

Par 3 - 155/132/113 Yards

Straight Forward

From Our Team:

What you see is what you get. This Par 3 can play 120-155 yards with a green surrounded on three sides with woods and trees. Usually plays a club less with the wind at your back.

From Our Members:

Short par 3. But can be difficult. If you hit short there is a good chance you will get stuck in the little ditch area in front. Here again putts will move toward the valley.

Par 4 - 371/358/240 Yards

Thru The Chute

From Our Team:

Need a straight tee shot to get through the chute to a fairway that widens out to the right. You want to aim to the left side of the green because the ball will feed to the right with your second shot. Can have a lot of tough pin placements on this green.

From Our Members:

This par 4 is not long from the red tees but placement is important. Try to send your drive as close to the tree line on your left. The fairway moves left to right and if you are too far right it will leave a difficult pitch back on the green. This green is fast and hard going toward the back and right.

Par 5 - 497/413/352 Yards

Reachable

From Our Team:

This Par 5 is reachable with your second shot but you will have to negotiate the wind usually in your face and clear the pond guarding the front of the green. Playing slightly uphill and because of the wind you may be clubing up 2 or 3 clubs to reach this green.

From Our Members:

Lots of room on this fairway from the red tees. Depending on your drive length will determine whether going for the green in 2 is possible. You may want to look at hitting to the left of the pond to be safe. Then go to the green with the 3rd shot. Try to keep your putt from below the pin. If you have to hit down the hill it is fast and will move.

The Back 9

Par 4 - 406/392/315 Yards

Welcome To The Rock

From Our Team:

This is a tough Par 4 requires a straight tee hopefully getting you past the enormous rock on the downhill slope of the fairway. Ideally, you want to get to the bottom of the gully or on the uphill slope. This will leave about 140 yards playing all uphill with green in the middle of the woods. Tough green to putt!

From Our Members:

This is a long par 4. Don’t let the tree line on your left intimidate you. There is plenty of room in the middle . You will have an uphill shot to the green . May want to go up a club on your approach. Also play to the left side of the green as it will break from your left to right.

Par 3 - 156/110/75 Yards

Off The Ridge Over The Ravine

From Our Team:

Being a shorter par 3 from the red, gold, and white tees your club selection is everything. Playing 80-130yds this hole has approximately a 40 foot drop from the tee to the green. A short wedge is usually all that is needed. Come up short and you’re in the ravine, go long and you’re in the rough on a bank with a down slope chipping back at the ravine. Depending on where the pin is, the putt can also be brutal!

From Our Members:

This is a short par 3 but it is best to hit to the back of the green.  Green will feed to the front and it is easy to lose a ball in the large ditch. Don’t feel bad with a bogey on this hole and real good with a par. Chances are you are going to be using a wedge to get on.

Par 4 - 358/342/304 Yards

Risk & Reward

From Our Team:

This shorter Par 4 gives the golfer lots of decisions to make. Try to drive over the pond or lay up? It’s about 230 yards slightly downhill and usually downwind to clear the pond, but a straight drive is essential because the closer to the green the narrower things get! Lay up with a iron towards the 150 marker will give you a mid iron to hit the 3 level green rather than a short wedge or a possible putt for eagle for the big hitters. Scores have big variations in this hole!

From Our Members:

Depending on your drive you may want to take on this pond . It is about 180 yds in the air to clear. If that is not doable then there is room on the left of the pond. Either way you go, your next shot to the green is best if hit in the front and let run on. Going off the back of the left side can be disastrous.

Par 4 - 426/390/348 Yards

Enjoy The View Again

From Our Team:

This Par 4 is driveable to the big guns playing downhill and downwind but you will have to take it over the corner of the trees to the front right and get the hard kick to the left of the green. Toughest part of playing this hole is not going long. Hit the green and you have some of the straightest putts on any green. This is one of the easiest holes on the course.

From Our Members:

You want to aim for the middle of this fairway. You will see trees at about 160 yards in front of you. You need to stay to the left of them. Your 2nd shot to the green is best if hit in front and let run on. May want to look at playing 1 club less to reach the green.

Par 5 - 606/586/452 Yards

600 Yarder!!!

From Our Team:

This is a long dogleg right Par 5 playing downhill and once again downwind, wrapping around the hill. The left side of this enormous green is bordered by water.

From Our Members:

This is a long par 5. Don’t worry about getting on in 2. Best to play 3 shots in and try to land for a good birdie try. The green will move back towards the pond so you will want to approach on the right side of the hole.

Par 4 - 316/296/222 Yards

The Pond

From Our Team:

This shorter Par 4 is defended with the pond in front of this big green. Playing your tee short to the left will take part of the pond out of your play and give you a good downhill view of the entire green. If you don’t let the pond psych you out it’s an easy hole with a good chance at birdie.

From Our Members:

There is a pond between you and the green. Not a lot of room between the green and pond. Best to play left of the pond and leave yourself a short shot onto the green. You don’t want to be long on this green as the shot back on the green will be tough. This green will break to the valley for your putts.

Par 3 - 168/152/136

Uphill Par 3

From Our Team:

The tee box on the 16th hole is 40 yards long. From the front or red tees, it plays about 130 yards into the back with the blue tees. It plays as long as 170 yards. This par 3 plays slightly uphill and usually into the teeth of the wind. The false front or approach on the green also adds to its difficulty. Whatever club you would normally hit from the tees yardage usually you will want to club up at least two clubs to compensate for the wind in your face and the elevation of the green.

From Our Members:

Normal  yardage from the red tees is about 150 yards.  Play it 10 to 15 yards longer as this uphill is deceiving and it is very easy to be short on this approach.  This is a large green so there is room to land. Best to use more club than not.

Par 4 - 402/378/238 Yards

No Rest For The Weary!

From Our Team:

This 370 yard Par 4 comes up two levels. The tee shot requires 220 yards from the whites to get you to first which will give you a 140-150 yard second. Don’t make it and you can be looking at 200 yards uphill and again into the wind. Make it to this enormous green and unless you’re close you can be looking at a 3 putt. This makes this hole the #1 handicap hole at Holland Heights.

From Our Members:

It is difficult to get your drive across this green. Best to try and place between the hedge row and the pond. This is a tricky green. If the pin is in the front don’t play at it as your shot will roll off back at you. Go past the pin. It is a deep green so if the pin is in the back keep that in mind and shoot accordingly.

Par 5 - 508/422/356 Yards

Finish Strong!

From Our Team:

From Our Members:

Don’t try to cut the corner on your drive even if seems tempting. That corner is thicker that appears from the Tee box.  Stay as close to the corner as possible to leave yourself less than 200 yards to the green.  This is uphill and you may want to consider clubbing up.  A good 2nd shot may get you there or just short of the green.  This is another large green, pay attention to where the pin is so you don’t have a very long possible birdie putt.
